There are several reasons for this: *There was recently a Zodiac copycat in North Carolina who was active online. This message board is safer for all of us when users can't hide behind anonymous personas. *The board is hosted by forumer.com. By default, ads appear near the top of each page. To remove the ads, which are distracting and slow the board down, I am forced to send forumer.com $5 via PayPal, and the ads are removed until the board has been viewed 30,000 times. During busy periods, those views can be used in a matter of two or three days. In the last year, I've spent more than $1,000 keeping the board free of ads. *Zodiackiller.com has always attracted some pretty weird people. Often their prime goal is to simply cause trouble. Banning them from the board is only a temporary solution, as they just re-register under a different user name, e-mail address, or i.p. address. Those users would probably be unwilling to keep up such foolishness knowing that once banned, they won't receive a refund of their donation. *It's not uncommon for me to receive all sorts of threats and harassment from Internet tough guys/troublemakers. A PayPal donation lets me know who is who, and in the event of trouble, I at least have the real name and address of the user. Everyone here knows who I am, and it's time to share the courtesy. (Personal info won't be public.) When making a PayPal donation, please include the user name you registered your account under. The donation can be any size. Whatever you consider fair. Please allow up to 24 hours after payment for your account to be activated.

I'll be sending $ Tom for this feature. Been worth it not to have ads pop up while I've been on the board for the past year. TY.... As far as the weirdos, I've read as I'm sure many have, some of the garbage on the internet, esp. one of RGaik's friends, family member? Please to all family/friends of any mentioned suspects on this site, please if you have any real information to eliminate your loved one as a suspect please do so. Everyone on this site would love to reduce the number of potential perpetrators via solid facts. As far as you being attacked Tom, if Z is doing the attacking, I can understand that. Anyone else, well weirdo is a very good description. Keep up the great and noble effort Tom. Hopefully soon the truth will be proven and the victim's family/friends can finally have closure.

You're missing out, I won a night's stay at a time share outside Death Valley, got to talk at length with some real energetic real estate folks, got a free poster of Erik Estrada from CHiPs and now my email in-basket is always full. Great idea Tom. Having to pay to REMOVE ads, what a concept.
